The role

This senior individual-contributor scientist works within the engineering organization and reports to a director. The position centers on advancing vision and multimodal models, moving promising research into shipped product while shaping the team's technical direction.

What you would do

• Drive ambitious research agendas in visual understanding, multimodal reasoning, and image or video synthesis
• Invent new model architectures, learning algorithms, and training recipes for hard perception problems
• Convert recent academic advances into concrete model gains that influence product roadmap
• Build and train large vision and multimodal foundation models on varied data at scale
• Work alongside scientists, engineers, and product partners to take prototypes into production
• Establish technical priorities and identify high-upside research bets for the org
• Coach other researchers and engineers and raise the bar for scientific rigor
• Keep pace with generative modeling and foundation model developments and apply them pragmatically

What they asked for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience
• Deep grounding in computer vision, including representation learning, recognition, and generative imaging or video
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, with a PhD strongly favored
• Eight or more years of industry or research work with a record of leading major vision or multimodal efforts
• Working fluency with transformers, diffusion models, contrastive methods, and foundation model designs
• Ability to frame open-ended research questions, run rigorous experiments, and convert results into product-level improvements
• Strong Python skills and ability to write maintainable research code
• Hands-on proficiency with mainstream deep learning frameworks
• Track record of mentoring and steering direction across a team
• Clear written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
• Proactive willingness to adopt and apply emerging AI tools to speed up team work
