The role
This role sits within the professional services group and places an engineer inside client engineering teams at strategic enterprise accounts. The work centers on modernizing frontends, improving speed, and delivering AI-driven systems that customers can keep running themselves. Success is measured by code running in production and clients gaining the ability to build on it independently.
What you would do
- Construct AI agents, MCP servers, and agent-driven workflows using the AI SDK and eve within client infrastructure.
- Port older React, Vue, or similar frontends onto Next.js, moving from the legacy routing approach to the newer app-based router, and script the repetitive steps.
- Review client codebases for slowdowns and poor structural choices, then propose a plan with quantifiable gains that covers AEO and SEO.
- Design and deliver fast Next.js applications using server components, streamed responses, and periodic static rebuilding.
- Hold training sessions and joint coding sessions so client staff can own the delivered work, and pass proven approaches back to product and engineering teams.
What they asked for
- Six or more years writing software, with at least two spent in client-facing technical positions such as consulting, solutions architecture, or forward-deployed work.
- Hands-on shipping of TypeScript apps built on React and Next.js, including a move from an older framework to Next.js, or deployed LLM agents featuring human approval steps and isolated execution.
- Experience building and launching web apps, backend services, or agent pipelines with AI coding assistants, skills, and MCP servers.
- Delivered technical findings and recommendations to enterprise leadership, and coached other engineers.
Nice to have
- Has driven an AI program at a large organization that swapped a hand-run process or aging system for a live agent.
- Has measured and resolved page-experience metrics (LCP, CLS, INP) across large sites.
- Holds contributor standing in an adjacent open-source project, such as a framework or SDK in the Next.js ecosystem, or maintains a well-known library in that space.
