Multigres Engineer

The role

This role sits on the Multigres team, which is developing an open-source system for scaling Postgres across many nodes. The engineer will design core distributed infrastructure and work alongside the Postgres, networking, and infrastructure groups. The company is fully remote and operates asynchronously, with the team spread across many countries.

What you would do

• Plan and build how queries get routed across sharded data stores
• Create replication and consensus mechanisms that keep data durable across nodes
• Build pipelines that handle data migrations and change data capture
• Help improve connection pooling and isolate workloads sensibly
• Work with the open-source community on the project's direction and code

What they asked for

• Strong grounding in sharding, relational algebra, and Postgres internals
• Working knowledge of consensus protocols and distributed transactions
• Experience with stream processing, materialization, or change data capture
• Track record building performant distributed systems with good observability
• Comfort with low-latency infrastructure and network protocol tuning
