Corporate Communications

Senior corporate communicator to build and lead a proactive storytelling program spanning business audiences, policymakers, and the D.C. press corps.

The role

This role sits on Stripe's small but influential Corporate Communications team, which protects and shapes the company's reputation across finance, policy, and global business circles. The person will own high-visibility programs, executive media, and events, while partnering closely with the policy group on positions and responses to regulatory developments.

What you would do

  • Create proactive campaigns that showcase the economic value Stripe creates
  • Run communications for flagship events, executive interviews, and public appearances
  • Own global reputation-building programs aimed at business leaders, policymakers, and Washington reporters
  • Develop the company's policy communications capability alongside the policy team
  • Build relationships with journalists, influencers, and AI, crypto, and tech policy thinkers
  • Advise senior executives on communications strategy and handle unclear situations
  • Set up rapid-response processes for political and regulatory events in D.C.

What they asked for

  • 10+ years in strategic communications, tech PR, policy comms, or a comparable high-growth operator role
  • Exceptional writing skills for complex, high-stakes narratives
  • Strong judgment under pressure with ability to make fast, consequential calls
  • Established network across tech media, including reporters, editors, and influencers
  • Experience working closely with policy, legal, and senior executive teams
  • Original creative instincts and a high standard for communications impact
  • Builder mindset, comfortable creating programs rather than only managing them

Nice to have

  • Track record of launching proactive campaigns instead of only responding to inbound media
  • History of building a comms function, narrative program, or public campaign from the ground up
  • Familiarity with independent media channels such as newsletters, podcasts, video, and social influencers
