Android Engineer - Platform Engineering

The role

This role sits within Client Platform, an R&D studio supporting hundreds of internal developers working on Spotify apps. You will develop tools and infrastructure to measure, analyze, and improve application performance and stability across the Android ecosystem. The position bridges client-side instrumentation, backend data processing, and developer-facing dashboards.

What you would do

• Design and build tooling for tracking quality and stability metrics
• Work across full stack from Android client data collection to backend processing to Backstage UI presentation
• Conduct deep-dive performance analysis including system tracing, memory profiling, and startup optimization
• Establish yourself as a performance expert and identify opportunities to enhance issue awareness and resolution
• Serve as technical advocate improving communication between platform and internal developer teams
• Drive rapid innovation to support development at organizational scale
