Contributor Experience Manager, Community

The role

This role leads community and contributor experience for Scale's generative AI business, which supplies human-generated data to leading research groups. It blends operations, program management, and writing, and it oversees a network of several hundred thousand people.

What you would do

• Devise plans to lift contributor engagement and happiness, including oversight of the Reddit presence and the internal Outlier community
• Design processes for routing contributor questions, input, and disputes across owned platforms and social media
• Set direction for several teams and build shared understanding and alignment
• Run online gatherings that build connection, and watch sentiment to spot and address issues early
• Use feedback, qualitative insight, and numbers to guide changes to product and operations
• Foster ownership in teammates, coordinate across groups, and clear obstacles that slow work
• Partner with operations, support, comms, marketing, and legal to keep messaging unified
• Write all contributor-facing notices and keep voice consistent across the contributor lifecycle

What they asked for

• Four-year degree in a commercial, promotional, messaging, or finance-related area, or an equivalent field
• At least five years working in messaging, promotions operations, on-site event operations, or project or program coordination
• Track record leading large online communities of thousands on chat or forum tools such as Slack, Discord, or Discourse
• Strong written communication with error-free grammar, crisp phrasing, and suitable tone
• Skill at distilling intricate information into material people can easily absorb
• Analytical approach to metrics and willingness to adjust tactics based on results
• Strong sense of accountability and readiness to do hands-on operational work to deliver results
• Genuine enthusiasm for creating upbeat, engaging community experiences
• Comfort querying data with SQL or Claude Code, or eagerness to pick it up fast
• Has overseen one or more reports and kept them responsible for results
