Ramp

Customer Activation Manager | Mid-Market

Owns about 45 mid-market finance-team accounts, guiding them from setup through agentic workflow adoption while proving measurable financial impact to CFOs and Controllers.

The role

This customer-facing role sits within Ramp's go-to-market organization and focuses on mid-market businesses after implementation. The manager drives a full transformation of how each customer's finance function operates, not just completion of onboarding. The person works across many layers of customer leadership and partners with sales, technical consulting, and product teams.

What you would do

  • Guide mid-market accounts from implementation through adoption of agentic workflows, owning time-to-value and business results
  • Design and run change plans per account: map decision-makers, address pushback, recruit internal champions, and sustain adoption
  • Translate platform value into finance metrics such as close speed, spend visibility, variance control, and return on investment
  • Manage relationships across several levels of customer organizations, including finance executives owned directly
  • Apply AI tools routinely for call preparation, material creation, data analysis, and early risk detection
  • Present new workflows as shifts in how finance operates rather than as product features
  • Coordinate with account executives and technical consultants to implement smoothly and grow account footprint
  • Feed patterns, gaps, and opportunities from customer accounts back to the product team

What they asked for

  • Five or more years in customer success, consulting, or implementation roles with consistent record of meeting outcomes
  • Proven ability to drive workflow change inside organizations despite resistance and produce measurable results
  • Habitual daily use of AI tools in customer work, not experimental use
  • Skill in explaining business cases and P&L impact to controllers and finance leaders
  • Enough technical understanding to discuss integrations, APIs, and workflow design with product and engineering
  • Track record in fast-moving revenue-focused environments, preferably SaaS or fintech
  • Effective collaboration and influence across sales, product, operations, and other go-to-market teams

Nice to have

  • Experience guiding customers through AI-driven or agentic workflow changes
  • Familiarity with FP&A, accounting platforms, expense management, or CFO-level processes
  • Documented commercial results such as expansion, retention, or faster time-to-value with specific figures
  • Background at a company where AI-led workflow redesign was central to the product or culture
  • Management consulting experience with structured problem solving and client management
  • Startup or high-growth experience comfortable with ambiguity and fast change
