Senior / Staff Product Engineer, AI

The role

This is a senior-level individual contributor role on Linear's AI product engineering work, focused on embedding intelligence into the core product. The engineer partners closely with product and design to turn foundation models into dependable, structured workflows, and helps extend the platform so outside agents can participate as team members.

What you would do

• Ship intelligent features across the product that feel integrated, quick, and enjoyable to use
• Prototype and refine conversational and automated workflows alongside product and design partners
• Build backend services that support natural-language input, proactive suggestions, and agent-driven jobs
• Tune prompts and model behavior, and measure how well outputs perform
• Steer the platform that lets third-party developers bring their agents into the workspace as teammates
• Help shape the architecture of AI integration layers with attention to reliability and data privacy

• Five or more years building customer-facing software at a company known for high quality
• Solid command of React and TypeScript, comfortable across the full stack including browser, Node, GraphQL, and relational databases
• Has delivered large, end-to-end features with noticeable product impact, not just small iterations
• Cares about user experience, performance, and visual polish, and speaks up when something feels off
• Able to work with minimal product management support and help define the problem, not only build the solution
