Senior / Staff Product Engineer

The role

This is an individual-contributor product engineering role at a fast-growing planning and shipping tool used by tens of thousands of companies. The engineer works directly with founders and designers, owning features from concept through release across a TypeScript codebase. The team is small and generalist, so the position carries significant autonomy and end-to-end responsibility.

What you would do

• Partner closely with leadership and design to turn early concepts into working features
• Add AI-driven capabilities into the product's core
• Improve the shared real-time editor that runs across internal tools
• Ship user-facing functionality with polished, scalable interface components
• Push application speed and responsiveness forward continually
• Help tune the team's engineering workflow to sustain fast delivery

What they asked for

• Five or more years building customer-facing software at a quality-focused company
• Solid command of React and TypeScript with working knowledge of browser, server, API, and database layers
• Record of delivering complex features with noticeable product impact, not only incremental fixes
• Strong product instincts around usability, performance, and visual finish, and willingness to challenge weak decisions
• Able to define the problem space independently without relying on heavy product management
• Self-directed owner who carries work from idea to release
• Productive in a distributed, asynchronous, small-team setting
• Prior work at a startup or a team with a high engineering standard

Nice to have

• Hands-on familiarity with the team's agentic workflow, real-time sync, or GraphQL tooling
• Interest in working close to performance and scale problems
