AI Transformation Owner, Marketing

Leads a marketing function's AI strategy by spotting high-impact automation opportunities, prototyping no-code agents, and driving adoption alongside an embedded AI engineer.

The role

This remote role sits inside the marketing function and treats the team's way of working as a product to improve. The owner sets AI direction with an executive sponsor, decides where automation should reshape workflows, and builds early prototypes before engineering takes over at scale. The position works in tight partnership with an AI engineer from the enterprise AI group, supplying business context and prioritization while they supply technical depth.

What you would do

  • Set the function's AI direction with its executive sponsor, tied to measurable business goals and tracked over time.
  • Map end-to-end workflows across the function and adjacent teams to find the real constraints.
  • Run a single intake path for AI requests and ideas, and hold steady on chosen priorities.
  • Drive adoption through shared showcases, recurring office hours, new-hire onboarding, and recognition of wins.
  • Recruit and coordinate a volunteer champion group across sub-teams and act as its link to enterprise AI.
  • Build agents on no-code and low-code platforms, writing their behavior instructions and connecting business systems.
  • Own the agent fleet by monitoring KPIs, running evaluations after changes, and retiring weak agents in favor of rebuilds.

What they asked for

  • Deep working knowledge of how the function operates and how its work hands off to other teams.
  • Product-management habits covering backlog, iteration, success metrics, and personal accountability for results.
  • Persuasive communication that lets you decline some requests and push others to think bigger.
  • Experience growing volunteer communities such as guilds, champion programs, or communities of practice.
  • Hands-on comfort with AI tooling, including building agents, configuring instruction files, connecting integrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Working grasp of AI capabilities such as summarization, classification, generation, and agentic automation.
  • Ability to map structured and unstructured data flows and decide where humans should step into automated processes.
  • Quick learner who stays current with fast-changing AI tools; production coding is not required.
