The role
This position sits within the engineering organisation and centres on server-side work for a voice AI company's product suite. The engineer would staff projects across the business, building features on top of the company's speech models, extending customer-facing products, and keeping internal systems reliable as usage grows. Collaboration with frontend, growth, and sales colleagues is part of the day-to-day.
What you would do
- Build and operate the platform layered over the company's voice models, which serve a very large user base
- Extend existing products with meaningful new capability and third-party or enterprise integrations
- Strengthen internal infrastructure so services stay available, fast, and secure during scaling
- Partner with frontend, growth, and sales teams to shape solutions for customers
- Move between projects across the company based on current priorities
What they asked for
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Solid track record in back-end development
- Understanding of common system design approaches and infrastructure, including API design, cloud tooling, storage, and data structures
- Working knowledge of test design and security fundamentals
- Formal credentials are not required; evidence of hard problems solved, such as projects or open-source contributions, carries weight
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration via Kubernetes
- Experience integrating Stripe or comparable payment providers
- Grounding in how AI models function
