Senior Manager, APJ Field & Channel Marketing

Leads APJ regional marketing and field-channel programs across Asia-Pacific and Japan, aligned with sales targets, while managing the Japan marketing team.

The role

This role leads marketing for the whole Asia-Pacific and Japan region, focusing most heavily on five core markets and building tailored plans for three smaller ones. The leader reports to the CMO, co-develops plans with the regional sales head, and acts as the senior marketing voice for the region while managing the Japan team.

What you would do

  • Design and own the APJ field and partner marketing strategy, tied to regional sales goals and the global marketing plan.
  • Work alongside the regional sales head and country sales leaders to craft market plans that generate qualified opportunities and drive revenue.
  • Run a regional program slate spanning in-person events, executive gatherings, targeted account efforts, integrated campaigns, partner activations, and online seminars.
  • Set the balance between direct customer spend and partner-led spend in each market, using customer signals, sales focus, partner potential, and results data.
  • Lead and grow the Japan marketing team by setting goals, establishing cadence, creating development paths, and supporting local execution.
  • Build relationships with sales and partner leaders, co-create plans with key partners, and develop co-marketing that broadens reach and partner-originated demand.
  • Adapt global campaigns, messaging, and content into locally resonant programs in partnership with global campaigns, product marketing, brand, digital, comms, and ops teams.
  • Manage the regional budget, agency and vendor contracts, program schedule, forecasts, and reporting, continuously improving returns against pipeline impact.
  • Define KPIs and recurring rhythms with sales and marketing operations, including planning sessions and business reviews tied to pipeline progression.
  • Serve as APJ's voice inside global marketing, bringing market intelligence, customer and partner input, competitor findings, and regional practices.

What they asked for

  • A decade or more of progressive B2B marketing work, especially regional, field, demand-gen, or channel roles in software or technology companies.
  • Proven record of building APJ-wide plans across several countries that moved pipeline and revenue metrics.
  • Hands-on people leadership, growing marketers spread across different countries, cultures, or time zones.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior sales executives, converting their goals into marketing plans and aligning teams through reviews.
  • Background managing a blend of field and partner programs such as events, account-based efforts, co-marketing, and pipeline initiatives.
  • Commercial and analytical strength, including budget ownership, program targets, pipeline attribution, and data-driven reallocation.
  • Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence across a global, dispersed organization.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the APJ tech landscape across both established and developing economies.
  • Background running partner-driven go-to-market efforts with resale partners and technology allies.
  • Prior work building or reshaping a regional marketing team or playbook during a period of growth.
  • Comfort with enterprise purchasing cycles and tactics that speed deals for named accounts.
  • Experience inside distributed, remote-first organizations.
