Systems Engineer, Growth Engineering

Product-minded engineer building customer-facing features and growth experiments that combine front-end craft, full-stack delivery, and measurable business impact.

The role

This role sits in the Emerging Technologies and Incubation group, inside the Product Growth team, and is based in Austin with a hybrid arrangement. It pairs product engineering with growth goals, turning product direction into polished code that moves key metrics and improves self-service properties. The engineer works across the stack and collaborates closely with product, design, and analytics peers.

What you would do

  • Ship customer-facing interfaces and run A/B tests intended to grow signups, usage, and repeat activity, guided by data-driven hypotheses.
  • Own features from client code through server logic, infrastructure-as-code, design, debugging, and test coverage.
  • Work with product, design, and analytics peers to set success metrics, build experiment setups, attribute user behavior, and influence roadmaps.
  • Improve speed, code health, security posture, and internal tooling across major properties.
  • Verify that user-facing flows meet trust and safety standards in partnership with other teams.

What they asked for

  • Strong TypeScript or JavaScript skills for reusable libraries and components, plus solid HTML, CSS, and current JS tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with high-scale serverless platforms such as Workers, Lambda, or Azure Functions.
  • Background designing UI around business goals like onboarding and adoption, running experiments, and using feature flags and telemetry.
  • Sound system design judgment that weighs rigor against visual polish, and comfort building or consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience creating developer tooling and using AI/LLM-assisted workflows, and enjoys fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of Go, Rust, or Python.
  • Prior use of Cloudflare products as a customer or internal user of offerings like Workers, Access, Zaraz, or caching setups.
  • Familiarity with commercial analytics suites such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
