Senior Systems Engineer - Go-To-Market Data Team

The role

This role sits within Cloudflare's centralized developer go-to-market group, which was formed to move quickly and build lasting developer relationships. The engineer owns the internal software and data layer that sales depends on, including account signals that prompt outreach at the right time. Work spans cross-team projects with considerable independent direction.

What you would do

• Write features across Go, TypeScript, and SQL
• Run production services on Cloudflare Workers and Kubernetes
• Maintain the core data layer, including query, orchestration, and API surfaces used internally
• Carry projects from design documents and schema work through testing, release, and live monitoring
• Take part in on-call duty, lead incident response, and author reviews that strengthen reliability
• Apply AI tooling heavily across coding, debugging, and operations
• Coordinate capacity, interface agreements, and shared initiatives with other groups
• Partner with sales, marketing, developer relations, and growth to convert vague operational friction into working tools

What they asked for

• Ten or more years building software with a record of leading large, company-wide data efforts
• Substantial experience designing distributed and production-scale infrastructure, with strong Go skills and working TypeScript knowledge
• Ability to bring structure to unclear problems, pick the most valuable technical work, and see projects through to adoption
• Advanced SQL and data modeling skills, including managing schemas with thousands of tables
• Track record diagnosing database and query slowdowns with profilers and source-level investigation
• Prepared to walk through concrete organization-wide initiatives and their measurable business results

Nice to have

• Past work as a principal, staff-level, or technical lead on platform or task-force teams serving go-to-market functions
• Hands-on use of columnar or lakehouse systems such as ClickHouse, DuckDB, BigQuery, Snowflake, Iceberg, or StarRocks
• Familiarity with Salesforce's data model and CRM integrations
• Experience deploying to bare metal and Kubernetes
• Background with edge platforms and dbt-based analytics engineering
• Prior exposure to SaaS or product-led growth go-to-market models
