Analytics Data Engineering Manager, Product

The role

This leadership position sits within Anthropic's Product organization and oversees the group that turns raw usage telemetry into trusted, well-modeled datasets. The manager will both guide people and stay close to the technical work, coordinating with data scientists, product managers, and engineers so that every product area has dependable numbers as the company grows.

What you would do

• Recruit, grow, and coach a group of analytics engineers aligned with each product area
• Set the multi-quarter direction for product data infrastructure and analytics tooling
• Oversee construction of pipelines, data models, and curated marts built from raw event streams
• Translate requests from data science, product, and engineering leads into concrete technical specs
• Define quality expectations, service-level targets, and monitoring for the team's datasets
• Lead creation of self-serve dashboards and internal tools, including Claude-powered data utilities with data science
• Cultivate a culture of engineering rigor, ongoing learning, and evidence-based decisions
• Act as the go-to voice on dimensional modeling, transformation workflows, and analytics platform design

• Five or more years leading analytics or data engineering teams, ideally at a fast-growing company
• Eight or more years overall in analytics engineering, data engineering, or adjacent data work
• Solid command of data modeling, transformation pipelines, and warehouse design
• Hands-on fluency in SQL, Python, dbt, and the broader modern data stack
• History of assembling and elevating high-caliber teams
• Comfort working with data, science, product, and engineering executives to ship key metrics and behavioral insight
• Ability to hold a long-range view while still writing and reviewing code
• Clear written and verbal communication that makes technical topics accessible to varied audiences
• Prior experience growing an analytics function from an early stage to a mature one
• Record of instituting governance, quality controls, and standard practices
• Bias toward action and speed over waiting for perfection
• Full-stack ownership mentality that drives problems to resolution end to end
