Early Career Mobile Software Engineer, Quality Platform

The role

This role sits within the Quality Engineering group, which builds tooling and processes so Airbnb engineers can ship reliable software quickly. The engineer partners directly with product teams to maintain test suites, improve frameworks, and make systems easier to test. The position also involves applying AI-driven tools to speed up test creation across a large, fast-moving codebase.

What you would do

• Build and upkeep automated tests that cover features and releases
• Extend existing test frameworks to handle new functionality and improve speed
• Connect automated suites to CI/CD pipelines so testing happens at each stage
• Diagnose failures, confirm fixes, and investigate bugs found before or after launch
• Review designs to shape systems that are easier to test and more modular
• Adopt LLM-based tooling to help write and maintain tests

What they asked for

• One to two years of software development experience, or recent graduate with internship or project work
• Working knowledge of at least one general-purpose programming language
• Some hands-on time with a test framework, gained through jobs, internships, or side projects
• Grasp of core testing principles, including the testing pyramid and CI/CD practices
• Familiarity with metrics such as coverage, flaky-test rate, and suite runtime
• Ability to work in English
• CS or engineering degree, or comparable experience
